Not that anyone needed reminding, but Mary Fowler made her specialty known again tonight for the Matildas.
It took someone special to open up the match in the second half after tight defence from Chinese Taipei in the first.
Fowler spoke post match after her goal, which broke open the match in the 62nd minute.
”We were patient,” Fowler said on 10.
As for The Olympics, to be held in Paris next year, Fowler remained focus on taking the next steps to fully qualify.
“We’re not there yet, but hopefully once we get there, it motivates us to go that next step,” she said.
“We’d love to take it one step further.”
Fowler went on to receive the player of the match for her goal.
